I like to look at the bargain area this week I got courgettes marked down to $0.50 each. Once I got tamarillo trees for $5 each

Review №2

RUNThe bathroom has not been cleaned in ages, pink mould, grout (Between the tiles) some is clean and some is dirty and gross. The bed is the 2nd worst bed Ive ever slept in, any partner movement transfers, move a leg and the entire mattress wobbles, its hard and horrible. We left at 3am, only the second time we have ever left a motel before 8, and we paid extra for a 6pm checkout. The staff are a mixed bag, The lady that welcomed us was excellent, the guy at checkout knew we werent happy with the room and ignored it and was a bit derisive. The website I expected a quality hotel, apart from the reception area it is quite dated which doesnt matterLow head clearance, Im 65 and had to duck in the hallways

Review №3

Wasnt impressed with no drive in foyer to check in.Had to park around the corner a block away and walk back to check in. for a multi room Hotel they only had 5 or 6 internal parking spots which was a nightmare to access. The guy behind the front desk was great to deal with, the restaurant / bar guy looked like he wanted to go home, the dining experience starts with your server. Needless to say my experience wasnt great

On top of the very inflated price because of an event, When I booked it was stated a credit card would incur a 2% surcharge so I used a debit card not realizing they would still charge the surcharge. No option to pay upon arrival to avoid the surcharge. Then when I checked out and paid for parking, I was asked not to use the pay wave option because it incurs extra fees. Room service is offered all night from 9pm to 6 or 7 am, this is stated on the late night menu. When i called to order around midnight, it took a very long time for the call to be answered. The man on the other end sounded sleepy like he had just woken up. When I stated I wanted to order some food he replied with at this time? He then told me it would take 35 to 40 mins as he needed to heat the cooking appliances up. When I pointed out the menu clearly states room service is offered all night he said yes but I still need to heat everything up then suggested we walk up the road to McDonalds instead! Do not offer a service if staff arent prepared to follow through. The room was not worth what I paid it was tiny and very stuffy. We found crumbs in the bed. The fan was handy since there is no air con unit. Bathroom clean, but no where to store toilet bag and shower had no door just a curtain that didnt keep the water in at all. Besides the handy location, nothing else was great about this experience. I wont recommend staying here and I definitely will not stay here again.

Review №5

Love staying here... always book direct when i come to Wellington... great location and service.

Review №6

Staff were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast disappointing stayed for two nights so first morning went to restaurant and all cooked food was dry and inedible, so next day we decided on room service - but sorry the bacon was over cooked, tomatoes tasteless and eggs solid. But meal in restaurant Saturday night delicious. Beds very very firm, so bad sleeps for us. Need to upgrade shower facilities and coffee!!

Review №7

Great location at the bottom of Cuba Mall and with easy access to the main shopping areas. The staff are very accomodating to your needs. The rooms are nice but ask for one away from the street as no double insulation. Overall a very good place to stay when you visit Wellington

Review №8

Clean, tidy, spacious accommodation in a great spot. Outstanding value for money, will definitely stay there again.

Review №9

Great location. Warm and quiet room. Staff helpful

Review №10

Quiet. Clean. Comfy. Good honest hotel. Great staff and super location. Superb lamb shank pot pie.

Review №11

Good location, reasonable price. A little dated now but clean and tidy.Breakfast was ok but staff need to keep it stocked better. After we paid there was nothing to eat, the hot plates were slowly restocked one at a time, tomatoes arrived after we had finished breakfast. Good coffee was an additional charge, this should be included.

Review №12

I wasnt able to stay with them due to personal reasons, but I just wanted to commend the staff member/s who were assisting us with our booking and queries. Lovely and prompt communication from them and they have a warm and welcoming tone towards us and our queries. Hopefully we get to stay with you next time. Keep up the wonderful Customer Service!

Review №13

Highly recommend, lovely clean room, very professional receptionists.Highly recommend, will be back.

Review №14

The small details count!! Loved that my luggage was picked up from my conference location, delivered to west plaza hotel and put into my room..Check-in staff very efficient and friendly.Room is clean, tidy and comfortable.Bathroom is small and clean - most welcoming was a separate face cloth to remove my residual makeup.Overall it is a great place to stay

Review №15

Very tired rooms, though beds relatively comfortable. Breakfast seemed very disappointing, and we waited over 30 minutes for it to arrive and decided to skip breakfast. Not great and no real effort to make good.

Review №16

Very nice hotel, you can get good prices for it if you search well

Review №17

Great location, and amazing reception staff. Very cute queen room that had everything you needed, however we had the most uncomfortable bed where we sunk into the middle of the bed and could feel the springs on the mattress. Would give 2.5 stars

Review №18

Very hospitable and the food at the restaurant is great! Thanks for making my graduation night wonderful!

Review №19

Great time. Loved location. Te Papa great as was the physical theatre at the show. Staff friendly and food hit the spot.

Review №20

Rooms were clean and a great size. Staff were friendly. Unfortunately glasses are rinsed in bathroom sink and returned to wardrobe. Very scarry in this covid time

Review №21

Good, comfortable, conveniently places, fabulous welcoming service

Review №22

Great accomodation close to everything and room was awesome.

Review №23

Great Staff and facilities and awesome accessible rooms

Review №24

This is my hotel of choice when visiting Wellington. The service is impeccable and the rooms warm, clean and comfortable. Bart was the duty manager on for my most recent trip and he went above and beyond, making our stay that bit more perfect. Bart is a great example of the type of managers we need in hospitality, in particular the Hotel and accommodation industry.

Review №25

Quite noisy on top floor because of kitchen vent. Asked to be moved to floor 3.Breakfast very good

Review №26

Central location with good parking. A consistently good place to stay.

Review №27

Right in the heart of the cityWell priced and secure parking

Review №28

Few areas of improvement.1. There is no short term parking for drop off.2. Hotel car park is extremely tight. No lines in one area, so lots of wasted space.3. Shower does not have a box or screen. So easy to flood bath room. Bath mat is kind of pointless.4. No extractor fan in the bathroom so mirror foggy after shower.5. No flick mixer in the basin. So one hot tap and one cold. What was good.1. Front desk service.

Review №29

Just experience a small issue, but still a great hotel

Review №30

POSITIVES: Incredible location - close to a main bus stop on Manners St which got us very easily to many places including Weta Workshop and walking distance to many restaurants/bars. Room clean (except bathroom floor corners which were a bit filthy) and relatively comfortable (pillows werent great). Nice selection of shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash. Hot strong shower. Friendly staff.NEGATIVES: Hotel a little bit tired, especially in the bar/restaurant area which was a bit old fashioned and dreary and the elevator which stunk of smoke (not the hotels fault but still unpleasant). Also it might seem like a small thing but having 1-ply toilet paper makes a hotel feel cheap. Both mornings we were there we got woken up early by very loud rubbish trucks or something making huge clanging noises. Recommend using earplugs.

Review №31

Average. Rooms are tired and need stark contrast to grand entrance and conference facilities. Restaurant is great.

Review №32

10/10 for the service and staff appearance. 1/10 the room bathroom. Couldnt fault anything else.

Review №33

Very nice city hotel. Cheerful helpful staff. Nice meals.

Review №34

Lovely, well situated in the heart of the city without hearing all the party people.

Review №35

Very average stay. The place felt a little uninviting. The onsite carpark was cluttered with disused furniture and other nolonger required equipment. Not inviting at all.The premise was clean and tidy though.Onsite breakfast was very average.Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review №36

Serice and location great. But not impressed by happy hour deals

Review №37

Had a great stay, room was clean and everything functional. Staff were professional and Friendly. Thank you

Review №38

We will be back. Lovely hotel

Review №39

We dropped off a boat for the Picton ferry in Wellington and chose to stay at the West Plaza hotel. Great place to stay, affordable room rate, parking which is plus for us and a spacious room. Everything works, TV channels are where they are meant to be, a desk and chair to do some work. The restaurant menu has a a good selection and I was happy to see a vegetarian meal. Chris on the desk and Luke in the restaurant represented the West Plaza well. We will be back.

Review №40

We stayed here for one night and booked a twin plus single room. The room itself is dark and gloomy, there are light sockets with no bulbs in them, everything is in strange places e.g the closet it in the middle of the room. The bathroom is very old the shower has a curtain and it has a old fashioned dial to change the temperature. The hotel itself looks quite old it is dark and it is not very nice. I would not recommend it to anyone. They also charged us $25 a night for PARKING! Which you only find out when you have place your booking.

Review №41

Nice budget hotel, large clean room. Friendly reception and bar staff. Parking $25 at the Wilson round the corner. Breakfast also expensive at $25 each plus extra for drinks (instead come out of the hotel and turn left or right and there’s plenty of places to eat at a more reasonable price)

Review №42

Breakfast selection great. Bathroom and breakfast packaging of products and food in glass and paper, plastic use minimal. Very good stay, freindly staff. No aircon available in the room we stayed, but would happily recommend for everything else.

Review №43

Really affordable and they give good customer service. The room was cozy but clean and had all we needed. Will be back next time we choose to stay in the city.

Review №44

Great hotel, but average service from staff

Review №45

Having onsite parking at this centrally located hotel is great. Its a short walk to Te Papa, the Michael Fowler Centre and shopping streets. Check-in was easy with friendly efficient staff taking time to explain processes. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, room service is available too. Queen size and single beds are comfy with a choice of pillow styles. Only one chair in a room that slept 3. The room was quite warm as the sun beamed through the windows in the afternoon. Windows open and there is a desk fan. The shower needs upgrading to a hand held sliding fitting. Plenty of toiletries in the bathroom and the coffee/tea supplies were well stocked too. Milk in pods in the room fridge and fresh milk available from Reception. Hanging space in a cupboard and hooks above the suitcase rack too. COVID Tracer app QR code to scan and hand sanitiser beside the lifts on each floor.

Review №46

Great place to stay when I am in Wellington for a specific reason....great location for where I need to be....Will be back next year....

Review №47

I didnt think Id used the wardrobe ,but had. Id left some track pants there.I enquired. I was called back Saturday. The staff used my address Id left my credit card details and they were track and traced to me. Well done!PS THERE WAS NO CONSTRUCTION NOISE

Review №48

Satisfactory. Place is clean but old fashioned rooms.

Review №49

Very helpful staff and apt spotless excellent

Review №50

Great staff and clean rooms.

Review №51

Love the location, close to everything you need For shopping, food and walking along the beautiful waterfront. And unlimited WiFi is always awesome. Room was great and really comfortable beds.

Review №52

Affordable and well situated, my standard queen room was nothing special but was clean and comfortable

Review №53

Old hotel with very little noise insulation. Shower only no bath, shower sprays toilet. It is, however, in a good location and close to everything and staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review №54

Love it. Its my go to place to stay when Im in wellington

Review №55

Reasonably priced and tidy rooms but vehicle access and parking is not that great

Review №56

Great little hotel, comfortable rooms at a great price, relaxed but professional atmosphere and amazing customer service. My daughter left her jacket behind which they located and couriered back to us. Very impressed and will stay here when in welly from now on

Review №57

Generally good. Restaurant food was excellent. Only disappointment was that our room wasnt turned over (we stayed 2 nights) and when we asked for fresh towels we were given hand towels and a floor towel. Im sure it was an honest mistake but not fun drying yourself with a floor towel. They also lost our bags temporarily when we left them there for a couple of hours after checking out. Turned out they had been left in a different area so they were found but struck me as a little unprofessional. Second time staying there and would still definitly stay again

Review №58

Might be a one off, but we had a terrible experience. First off, when we came in we saw that the cups and plates had dirty spots on them. So we went down to the desk to ask if they could be changed. We waited but they never were changed. Then, at 3am, we heard people shouting for a long time. I looked out the window and someone is by the window in their room smoking. They have people in their room and theyre playing music and shouting to each other. For the price of the room, I expected far more. Only unspide was the cental location

Review №59

Was ok Went for Christmas dinner First time of going out for lunch $130 Actually didnt think it was worth it Teens touching food an putting it back 😲 Xmas pud was rock hard but I guess their was no mess for us to clean up Think we will stay home next Xmas

Review №60

Great location very central to almost everything in Wellington cbd. Rooms, are relatively small and parking is limited and tight for large vehicles. But value for money equation is good. Very satisfied with our stay.

Review №61

Good meeting place for small meetings nice and central in walking distance to most places

Review №62

Nice place, service is good

Review №63

Helpful staff.

Review №64

Great location in the CBD.Reasonabel charges.Good customer service. Clean rooms.

Review №65

The staff were all really great. Friendly, helpful, cheerful, full of smiles, efficient at their jobs. The location is pretty good too.Facilities not as good as I was expecting. Such as no air con in the room, only one light switch for the main lights - by the door, limited convenient jack points for charging computer, home, etc. Also, at breakfast coffee was only lukewarm and selection of continental not very good considering the price. But knowing all that, I probably would consider staying there again, mainly because of the great staff.

Review №66

The rooms are boring and the tv channels are not good for kids. But the water pressure is great

Review №67

Nice accommodation, helpful staff.

Review №68

We love the location. Walking distance with the places that we want to visit. We left the car in the hotel and we just walk

Review №69

Quite an old facility with nothing really special to compensate for the ageing infrastructure.

Review №70

Awesome experience. Great helpful staff. Clean rooms great breakfast. Brilliant

Review №71

Popped in for dinner on the off chance. Great staff, great food. Lovely setting.

Review №72

Awesome service. Nothing is a problem. Forget Air B&B... this is the place to stay I Wellington city

Review №73

Comfortable room. Very good food choice for breakfast. Bar was well stocked and the staff are friendly and helpful. The dining area is small which is normally fine until a bus load of people want their breakfast at the same before departing. The hotel is close to the centre of town so visiting tourist attractions, restaurants etc is no problem.I enjoyed my stay.

Review №74

Great value. Pork belly was perfect

Review №75

Well priced, well located and staff were very friendly. Rooms were clean. I would definitely return!

Review №76

Nice spacious clean room. Comfy bed. Nice bathroom but didnt like how water from shower flows up to the base of the toilet. Lovely dinner in the restaurant. Were given wrong room number when checked in which was a bit annoying. Had trouble looking for a park before checking in as had no idea where on site parking was. Its a few spaces out the back. Need to pay $25 and put a piece of paper on your dash. Great spot to be, close to everything. Will stay there again

Review №77

Clean. Very very helpful staff. Bland. Central location. Valur for money. No bells or whistles.

Review №78

OK food. Plain, office-like venue, feeling of a cheap motel decorated above its basic structure.

Review №79

Very professional staff. Good conference venue with good access to second floor (lifts and stairs). Liked the spacious double height foyer area and the layout of the ground floor restaurant and bar area. Could talk to a big group, and individuals with ease. Central location 10 mins walk from train and 10 minutes walk Te Papa.

Review №80

Great staff who are very helpful. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is lack of air conditioning. Beyond that, the rooms are good and the staff or excellent.

Review №81

Very nice, clean, comfortable and friendly staff.

Review №82

Room faced lombard and there was quite a lot of noise from the carpark, but it was saturday night!

Review №83

This feels like a tired motel. The room was small and basic, but generally clean. The hallway narrow and slightly dingy. There were basic amenities in the bathroom: soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. The staff was friendly but there was no concierge service of any kind (I asked them to help book a restaurant: they dialed the restaurant and handed the phone to me). Basically, it feels like the kind of hotel good enough for a government worker to get a nights sleep and some work done without anyone accusing him/her of wasting taxpayers money on anything approaching comfort. If I had a choice of hotels in Wellington, I would not pick this one.

Review №84

Stayed for a weekend and upgraded to a suite which made it pleasant stay. We will go back again.

Review №85

Very helpful, friendly service.

Review №86

Great location. Nice friendly staff

Review №87

I always love this place and stay often on my Wellington visits. First of all, you can not beat the location, smack bang in the middle of the city.Rooms in the main wing are nice (would advise staying in the main wings). They have there own bar and there are no lack of bars and restaurants around.Great food from the restaurant and all staff have bee. Greatly accommodating over the past few years.

Review №88

This is a large hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. There is a nice lounge area with a bar. There is a restaurant that offers breakfast and dinner. There is no hotel gym however you can go to Les Mills. There is car parking on a first in first served basis. This hotel is extremely central, its within walking distance to cafes, bars, restaurants, cinemas and public transport. Te Papa is also close by.Hotel staff are polite however dont expect extremely good outstanding service. The showers are quite low so keep this in mind if you are tall.We chose to walk to a cafe for breakfast rather then have it at the hotel. There is no reward program when you stay here often. The building is quite old however they have done their best to keep it to a good standard. This would be a good place to stay if you are visiting for business. One thing that did bother me was that there is no power point by a mirror. This makes using a hair dryer or straighteners difficult. There is a power point in the bathroom for shavers only.

Review №89

Check in was easy, professional and quick. The room was clean and tidy, and more spacious than how I imagined. Whilst checking out, I met housekeeping in the hallway after checking out, they were very friendly. The staff here are very friendly overall.

Review №90

Good cental hotel. Staff v pleasant and helpful from checkin to checkout

Review №91

Great location. Central to everything. Staff were fantastic & went out of their way to be helpful & friendly. Dined in the restaurant twice as the food was so good. My only two suggestions for improvement would be that the scrambled eggs in the breakfast buffet could be greatly improved & a fan in the rooms wouldnt go astray as the rooms tended to be quite stuffy at night, even with both windows open.Would definitely stay there again & would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Wellington.

Review №92

Great location; Small bathroom (with no ventilation); bed was ok; very limited on-site parking available; Wi-Fi was reasonable.

Review №93

Helpful staff and a clean room with a comfortable bed

Review №94

Nice clean and tidy.

Review №95

Perfect location - easy to get to bars and restaurants and to the shopsVery friendly and helpful staff. Rooms need a bit of updating but are fine. Our room didn’t have air conditioning but had a fanBooking directly was the cheapest

Review №96

Welcomed in a friendly manner but felt most reception staff were quite offhand after this.Ordered a paper for each morning which was noted. 1st morning collected one from reception and mentioned it was not delivered but did not arrive on the subsequent days. We were not charged for it.Breakfast and staff were good.Dinner menu uninspiring so dined out.Overall ok but felt the photos online gave a false impression of style and smartness.

Review №97

Very expensive for an average stay - $1430.00 for 2 rooms for 2 nights.

Review №98

Nicely appointed rooms- my one had opening windows for fresh Wellington air. The central location was perfect for our two day conference with lots of cool cafes and eateries nearby. The staff were very supportive despite the technology issues we experienced at times. The set menus at West Plaza had a variety of the typical cooked vegetables and meats offered by hotels but also had delicious fresh salads and fruits. #veganfriendly!

Review №99

I felt at home during my stay. Staff are over friendly and really helpful bathrooms are a bit old but the place is very good on every other level. P. S. Breakfast is very delicious

Review №100

Excellent location..decent checkin and checkout. The room floor corridor feels like hostel dormitory..needs refurbishment. Rooms are adequate for the price but need to improve on look and feel for a 4 star.
