We stayed there last week for 4 nights. Owners are lovely and helpful, and the rooms were perfect for us. I expected more noise being next to train tracks, but I didn't really notice any noise. We will happily go back. (Togia and Karol)
Not bad. Clean and tidy. Friendly owners. Beautiful rose gardens. Cheers
Above average for a suburban motel. Fastidiously clean, spacious, lovely gardens and a great selection of soaps, coffee etc. Lovely hosts.
Great place to stay with fantastic service. The only down stay is it proximity to the train tracks
Ceiling creaked all night from people walking around. You can hear people peeing really loud .
Went to book a room with them. Got the total price I then confirmed it and they asked how I was paying I said cash or my debit card but I donu2019t have my card on me at the moment. And I was then told u201cI think we will leave itu201d and hung up on. Worst service I have ever received in all my life. DO NOT bother calling this company. I wouldu2019ve used my fathers card or my husbands who are both with me but she wouldnu2019t even give me the chance to say anything further. Disrespectful and disgusting service. Will tell every person I know to NEVER go anywhere near this place.
Its charming, clean and really really lovely. Hostess Lyn friendly and helpful soul. Loved my one night at Bucket Tree Lodge.
We were in Tawa for my wedding I had booked accommodation for four people for two nights however was accused of having an extra person even though I didnu2019t go back to the motel for the second night? Honest mistake on their behalf however the tone was very intentional. Now I booked from Oz so wanted to support the local businesses and when my friends were spoken to they were labelled u201cyou peopleu201d? How very sad that customer service was the let down as everything else was perfect.
It's right next to the rail line. trains are loud and run frequently.I travel to Wellington frequently and will not be staying here again. Pretty poor value for money.
Accessibility unit absolute joke canu2019t get in or out anywhere, silly old man trying to renovations till mid night keeping you awake, train line right there, no tv channels, really expensive especially for what it was, lady even expected me not to shower because I was in a wheel chair, just a joke, all in all the worst motel ever stayed in
Easy & convenient to friends out of WellingtonAvoided the carpark inner city charges etc
Very clean room with nice amenities in Executive Suite, could cook dinner if you wanted to. Owner/manager was very helpful and informative about location and transportation. Car not needed, as train station within easy walking distance. 12 minute train ride into Wellington.Out of town of Wellington, and there may be restaurants nearby, but we didnt see much within walking distance. However, manager pointed out large grocery store within walking distance (uphill), where you could buy food for any meal and prepare in room.
Horrible place! Absolutely shocking. Way overpriced and no idea of customer relations. Very little in the way of comfort. Name should be Money Tree Motel as itu2019s all about the money here. Stay at your peril!
A good place to stay accept the accessible unit could have been better designed
The motel had good location for our needs, and was clean and well presented. The only issue we had was the inter -room sound proofing is very poor, and we could hear everything going on above and beside us! We could hear the trains but they were not too loud - at least for the Saturday night that we stayed.Otherwise a pleasant stay, thank-you!
Nice stay. Ok rooms. Clean though. One big disadvantage - its right near the rail tracks with trains running all night!
Super friendly and very helpful. Clean, warm snd comfortable rooms. So convenient to the city and the train station only a 2 minute walk. Highly recommended.
Lovely owners who made us feel very welcome. VERY well equiped kitchen, comfy bed and nice and quiet.
Receptionist (old fellow) totally disrespectful, No customer service manners at all, won't put my feet again. unreal experience first time in NZ, highly commended don't go,
Stayed at The Bucket Tree Motel during the recent British Lions tour , excellent service from start to finish. Owners and staff could not have been more friendly or helpful .Excellent location for visiting Wellington , without a car. Only negative comment was that we could hear the people in the room above when they walked about. Thanks
Couldn't fault a thing. The caretakers while we were staying, Micheal & Gayle were absolutely wonderful people to meet and very kind. Lovely clean facilities, comfy beds, great shower, definitely going back.
Great owner/hosts...enjoyed our wks stay here. Yes will stay there again. ThankuAleki n Theresa
Sorry but donu2019t expect to pay these prices for a room under renovation, bathroom had a wall of tiles missing and only half of the rest was grouted. Bed comfy, curtains let in so much light was awake when sun came up.
Asure Bucket Tree was the best place we have ever stayed. From the initial inquiry to departure Lyn and Murray were always attentive and helpful. This was the experience of all our family members gathered together for our son's wedding. The units are comfortable and well equipped clean and warm
Ok hotel and room is adequate. Value for money, however, the reception staff could have been more welcoming.
Unit was recently renovated and lovely, surrounded by a beautiful park with a river and close to the shops, however creaking floors from the guests above us at 5am were maddening. Manager did their best to sort it out but we were again woken up at 6.45 the following morning. Trains nearby were quite noisy also. For the money we paid I think we could have found somewhere quieter.
I would not stay at this motel again nor recommend it. The rooms are half finished and very small there is one bathroom in a 3 bedroom unit (insufficient for 4 adults). The bathroom is unfinished and from what I gather renovations have been going on now for some time everything is incomplete. Furniture is tired and needs an update rooms are kind of dra, dark and the place smelled damp and stale. Trains run along the back of this complex so get used to noise all night. Grumpy reception adds to mix. Whole place needs a repaint lighter and brighter inside, and double glazing against the cold damp and the noise would make a huge improvement. Such a shame because this motel is in a very pretty setting.
Trains are close but not that noisy. Rooms nicely appointed, windows now double glazed, beds new. Did not notice trains until awake time, great alarm clock.
Motel under renovation - our room incomplete, with unfinished tiling/grouting in the bathroom. The room rate was too high considering the condition and facilities. The price booked through Wotif was far higher than the rate quoted on the motel website. This makes it difficult the understand what value is added by booking through Wotif. All in all I thought this was poor value for money compared with other NZ motels I have stayed in.
Nice place, very close to train, Was undergoing renovations so things werent finished in our room, but will be fantastic when done. We would stay again
Nice enough owner is redoing the units so will be better
Very friendly staff and hand to shops clothing stores
Mostly good but needs clearer instructions re use if wifi and microwave!
Location is really good really close to a mall great facility
Hotel is good for me. Definitely will go back and stay there next time
Great room service
Owner was rude, my father in law was accused of smoking in the room when really it was just dirty. Also accused him if having two people stay in the room very aggressively after he found two cups were used. The room I paid for was for two people anyway so I dont understand his problem even though only one person stayed there. My mother in law had a separate room booked. The condition of the room was crap for ,$169. Extremely rude owner. I will never be using them again for visiting family.
Clean and tidy, close to train station and town centre, the owners are lovely friendly people. Would stay again.
The place smells like old people, the sound from the upstairs room kept us awake and the service of the welcome was the worst I have ever received and I stay at motels every week I would never stay there again, returned the key didnu2019t even get a thank you
Excellent location, lovely people. Honest, hard-working folk and great little units.
Close to transport, accessible. Quiet. Great amenities. Just like living at home.
A few issues; We should have been told that you are renovatingThe bathroom tiles were not finished and not groutedA humming noise outside the room (12) during the nightThe aircon / heatpump cannot handle the roomlimited internet accessconfusing entrance (especially when arriving in the dark)No off season (winter) rates -and staying while renovatingbathroom amenities like soap and shampoo are minimalno bathroom heater
Beautiful location and due to the environment other than that nothing special to tell about. Cannot be recommended.
Useless. The train woke us up 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am. Instead of feeling refreshed we felt exhausted. Stay away.
Room was too hot. It was quite noisy too in the morning.
A bit out dated but they are working on rooms nowNear to WellingtonOnly issue it was close to the railway trackBut rooms seem quite sound proofWould stay again
Nice place but beware to be close to the railway is a plus and a minus
If it wasnt for the train outside my window Id give it a perfect 10
Nice, clean & good location.
Should have had a fan available for those terribly hot nights had to have all the windows open
Hairs in the beds, train outside window all night not even 30m away. Just to be picky the duvet was also very scratchy feeling and old looking
