The service is outstanding. Very clean and lovely place for breakfast. Food was delicious. My only personal negative will be the coffee β˜•. It wasnt strong enough for my liking. Otherwise great πŸ‘. Eggs were cooked spot on.

Review β„–2

Yummy salmon bagel. Fresh fluffy scrabble eggs. Omg so good.

Review β„–3

Best French toast I’ve found in Auckland! The waiting staff is nice and very attentive. Mocha had just the right amount of chocolate, and the outside seating is a perfect place for some fresh air while eating:)

Review β„–4 every way. Service, value, friendliness, quality of food. Superb. Would definitely recommend Melba on Vulcan Lane. Thanks.

Review β„–5

This cafe is tucked away at the top of Vulcan Lane off Queen Street. I was initially drawn to the name, having a soft spot for Australias early tough diva. I stayed though for the food.Have visited here before when I had their delicious Granola for breakfast. This time I chose their omelette for a late breakfast and it really hit the spot. Light, fluffy and delicious, it put me in good humour for the rest of the day.

Review β„–6

An amazing cafe with friendly and polite staff. We had a delicious hearty breakfast with great coffee in central Auckland. They also listened to my instructions for my order. Good seating options, very clean and cosy. Highly recommend. We definitely will return πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Review β„–7

Tip coffee and food. I had the eggs Benedict which came served on shredded potato squares. It was perfect for my wheat free diet.

Review β„–8

Best breakfast weve had in a long time. My friend really wished it was appropriate to lick her plate clean!

Review β„–9

Breakfast 🍳 πŸ€™πŸ‘

Review β„–10

Great location and coffee staff 10

Review β„–11

The first time I went there I had the salmon bagel which was really average. You have to assemble your own bagel, very hard to work with. By the time youve finishes assembling the bagel, your bagel is already cold. However my second meal there was much better very tasty. The staffs there are nice. Food didnt take too long to arrive.

Review β„–12

Cappuccino was weak and milky. Chocolate on top average. Breakfast burger was tasty. Nice bread. Bacon wasnt good though. Nice place. Friendly staff.

Review β„–13

Great friendly staff. Great food and good coffee and great atmosphere.

Review β„–14

Nice find on Vulcan lane, good service and decent range of choices on the menu. Food was served efficiently and promptly. Good for brunch and lunches.

Review β„–15

Nice brunch options, good coffee, friendly staff and a perfect location. Melba is always a pleasant experience.

Review β„–16

A gem of a cafe in the heart of Auckland. Great service, good food and their coffee is up there with the best. Our go to breakfast Cafe when in Auckland.

Review β„–17

Great atmosphere on a weekend.Had a burger and coffee on a weekend morning.Busy but friendly staff. Would definitely want to try other menus next time.

Review β„–18

Great Cafe. Great coffee and food! No crocodiles, which is how I like my brunch πŸ˜‹

Review β„–19

Favorite place in the CBD. Amazing coffee, food, and service!

Review β„–20

Fabulous Sunday brunch. Great coffee and service.

Review β„–21

Pretty decent food and coffee! Had the louisana Chicken and salmon bagel which were quite filling and good!Would reccomened!

Review β„–22

Very nice coffee and customer service

Review β„–23

Cute little breakfast place. Eggs were good and the coffee was great. Friendly staff too.

Review β„–24

Great stop for a quick bite and the bowls of coffee are huge!

Review β„–25

Great service and amazing food. The flat white hit the spot.

Review β„–26

Love when Benedict comes on hash rather than bread (McDonalds style hash rather than homemade albeit), also love the options including pulled pork belly in addition to the regular salmon or bacon. Smoothie tasted more like a supermarket from the bottle than a true yoghurty blended delight but alas! Prices were fair $20ish. Good coffee

Review β„–27

Great service, very friendly and pleasant staff. Enjoyed eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, poached eggs done to perfection. Will definitely go back.

Review β„–28

Lovely ambience and great customer service. Always grab a long black to go in the morning to start my day. Coffee was great and staff were super friendly:)

Review β„–29

Always good. Food excellent as usual.

Review β„–30

Someone mentioned they serve one of the best eggs benedict and i can attest to it... you know its hard o get it right, but they done it... crispy base bread, egg that is properly drained (some bad shops get bresd soggy) and in my case the pork belly with sweet sauce reminded me of japanese BbQ on ramen. they could have done with less hollandise sauce in fairness but i didnt find it troublingnicely tucked away in a laneway in city. service quick and friendly. they even accept Amex card which is plus for a traveller

Review β„–31

Great coffee drinks and the eggs benedict are too die for! You can sit right outside in the alley and people watch. Highly recommend!

Review β„–32

Really nice food, great choices, service and staff A+

Review β„–33

Excellent coffee. Porridge with figs is recommended. Great service too.

Review β„–34

Vulcan Lane is the perfect setting for this amazing cafe. We came here for breakfast on our first day in Auckland and never went anywhere else for breakfast while we were there. Thats something I normally avoid doing, but there were too many amazing things on the menu to try.The eggs benedict were good, but the breakfast burger was incredible.

Review β„–35

I love the chips!! Staff are always so friendly

Review β„–36

Great little cafe, with lots of regulars that come in and grab their coffee before work. The food was good, opted for something healthy, not enough milk or yoghurt was given with the meal to finish the granola, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and gave me more. The coffee tasted weak, wasn’t enough coffee in it in comparison to the size. Apart from the coffee, it was still a good experience.

Review β„–37

Amazing food. Super friendly staff. 10/10 will definitely come into the video jut for the Pork Billy Eggs Bene!!

Review β„–38

Nice little place on Vulcan lane, had avocado smash and friend had honey chicken salad, nice good and great coffee, great place for a weekend brunch

Review β„–39

Review β„–42

Friendly staff, delicious breakfast burger and coffee β˜•

Review β„–43

Great coffee shop in an excellent location! Service was good and food was a 10!πŸ₯–

Review β„–44

Great friendly service. Excellent range on the menu, something for everyone. Cute laneway location. Fast service.

Review β„–45

Good coffee and breakie

Review β„–46

Always a solid breakfast choice down the lower end of town. Great service and coffee, mocha was sooo sweet though

Review β„–47

Great Salmon Hash and friendly staff.

Review β„–48

A little bit expensive for the quantity in our plate (a small salad for 20$). Plus, I expected my salad to have a little seasoning (or some special taste) but it wasn’t really tasty.I haven’t tried something else except the salad so I can’t judge entirely but in my opinion, it is overpriced for the quantity you get

Review β„–49

Make a great cuppa and the breakfast choices are nicely done and come nice and quick for a breakfast meeting. Its quite tight seating inside but nice little vibe and friendly staff

Review β„–50

Really good coffee... Service is great love it!!!

Review β„–51

Really lovely staff and yummy food. We enjoy going there

Review β„–52

A great place for breakfast/brunch. The coffee is excellent.

Review β„–53

Great food. Friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to help me celebrate my birthday.

Review β„–54

The best eggs benedict in Auckland. I love the hot chocolate as well. Always get these two things when I go here.

Review β„–55

Absolutely perfect. Service is next level. It’s hard to try anywhere else when I visit Auckland now

Review β„–56

Burger was really good, coffee in a bowl is HUGE

Review β„–57

An Auckland classic on Vulcan lane - good food, great service. Well priced - savory mince on toast with a slab of bacon in the side. Vibe feels a mechanical for me but that’s ok.

Review β„–58

A cozy place with good coffee and breakfast. Cant really fault anything.

Review β„–59

Great place to stop and do a bit of delayed trip planning. Cappuccino bowl was excellent, service a delight.

Review β„–60

Great coffee, great people, best service πŸ‘πŸ‘Œ

Review β„–61

Delicious food breakfast was yum

Review β„–62

Great coffee. Beautifully presented meals with unique flavour combinations.

Review β„–63

Lovely spot. Probably last visited 30 years ago - still has a great urban vibe. Staff were excellent, efficient & friendly.

Review β„–64

Ordered a smoothie and put in a coffee cup without any explanation. Terribly way of saving cost

Review β„–65

Amazing breakfast. Espresso was perfectly made and looked great. Food came out fast and tasted delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Their card reader was having issues, but that cant be helped.Atmosphere is cozy and there is outdoor bistro style seating. If you dont like your experience here, Im not sure what it is you are looking for.

Review β„–66

Pleasant central city cafe with very nice simple menu reasonable prices

Review β„–67

Delicious food and great service!

Review β„–68

Friendly attentive staff. Nice menu with a good choice of lunchtime favourites and breakfast essrntials. Recommended

Review β„–69

Always serve a great cup of coffee, really friendly staff and chilled atmosphere πŸ‘

Review β„–70

Melba Vulcan is certianly a place to visit when in auckland. It has the best breakfast that we have experienced in auckland. The food was outstanding and so was the customer service - great place

Review β„–71

I love their coffee and nice service there.!β™₯️

Review β„–72

A great day and a delicious brekkie. Really enjoyed the pancakes as the Maple syrup and the caramelised banana was out of the world. Would definitely come back for more. Good service but there is a delay in getting the orders. Something to be mindful of due to it being very busy.

Review β„–73

Good coffee but they have got rid of the white chocolate mocha - tragedy

Review β„–74

Great little cafe with decent prices. I went there with some friends to yarn and the vibe was nice

Review β„–75

Rude stuff

Review β„–76

Fantastic food! We had the pancakes and the smashed avo and it was delicious! Staff were all so friendly and the coffee was great too :)

Review β„–77

Our favourite place for a weekend coffee. Very lovely staff and excellent service. Aromatic coffee and always a pleasant cafe to visit.

Review β„–78

Love the smoke salmon bagel.Nice vibe.Good drink selection.Great service.Quick serving.

Review β„–79

Always pleasant and coffee brilliant

Review β„–80

Had brunch for there for first time last week and I was very impressed with the breakfast food! Full of flavour! They had a twist on most of the meals... yummm

Review β„–81

Always great. A little bit of Europe in the middle of Auckland city. At one time they had the best blueberry muffins I have ever tasted. And the best coffee in town. Havent been to Melba for a while, this time I noticed that the coffee was not quite as good but still passable.

Review β„–82

Nice homely ambience inside with nice coffees that taste great. Latte art is not as important as perceived.

Review β„–83

Great breakfast, nice coffee.

Review β„–84

It doesn’t get any better. Brilliant working lunch in heart of Auckland. Fantastically fresh food, brilliant atmosphere, wonderful setting and great staff. Memorable.

Review β„–85

Something about Melba on Vulcan lane. Firstly their staff are awesome and you feel like a real VIP there. Best inner city coffee place for individuals. Not much space for big groups. But for me and study/planning. Brilliant

Review β„–86

A splendid selection of breakfast dishes, including porridge and eggs Benedict amongst others. Warm and welcoming with the name of Australias most famous opera singer, CafΓ© Melba is just a short walk from Queen Street.

Review β„–87

Good coffee.

Review β„–88

Great place with delicious, vegetarian friendly options for breakfast. We enjoyed a seat outside and it was quite nice. No street noise basically because of its alley location.

Review β„–89

Love going here for coffee! staff is super friendly and the whole ambience is nice, food was a bit salty but i still enjoyed it :) 10/10 would come back

Review β„–90

The food was delicious. The staff was very attentive and polite. The location is central and convenient, regardless where youre coming from. Outside seats are better, as inside is a bit small, space wise

Review β„–91

Im a tad biased as I visit here regularly. I have never been disappointed and continue to be impressed and pleased with both the food and service. If you want some criticism - mugs with handles would be nice.

Review β„–92

I didnt buy anything here but the atmosphere was like magic with everyone smiling and laughing. The coffee smelt deeeevine and the food for sale looked delish. Hope Im there again soon. Daisy πŸ¦‹πŸ˜™

Review β„–93

Cracking little cafe. Big scrambled egg portion, all really tasty and super-friendly staff. My only suggestion is put tea bags into hot water before serving.

Review β„–94

Great atmosphere quiet intimate location yet in the heart of the city. Friendly and quick service with the coffees and our delicious meals. The blackboard menu meal was a fine dining experience. Thank you #TeamMelbaVulcan

Review β„–95

Good customer service, amazing food, lovely restaurant

Review β„–96

Feels cozy but can be too crowded. Seat inside if you want a little privacy.Feels like your being rushed as there are plenty of people waiting to be seated

Review β„–97

Food was delicious and staff were friendly. Great atmosphere

Review β„–98

Great food, phenomenal coffee and exceptionally friendly staff. This small cafe is neatly tucked away from the hustle and noise of Queen St and is a real good place to relax and for coffee on the go

Review β„–99

Great friendly staff. However food was abit average. Hot chocolate not very nice, not much flavour. Bacon and eggs a bit bland and the breakfast sausage wasnt cooked thoroughly. Eggs benedict was quite nice, however couldnt taste the hollandaise sauce. 3 stars ***

Review β„–100

Great food and coffee. I got the Mac and Cheese and my partner got the buttermilk chicken - both were amazing, and the coffee was perfect!!
